Edo Micic was born in Zadar/Croatia where he received his first musical education on the piano. Followed by accordion and clarinet Edo Micic started his studies in music theory and music pedagogy 1981 at the Academy of Music in Zagreb. While studying at the academy he worked as the choirmaster of the Solvenski Dom Choir.
After moving to Austria in 1988 Edo started his studies orchestra conducting at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz with Milan Horvat and Martin Turnovsky. As part of his education Edo Micic attended various master classes for exampel with Heinz Rögner in Weimar.
In 1993 Edo Micic graduated and began working as choirmaster with different choirs and ensembles. It is the time he immersed into the works of Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Franz Schubert. From 1995-1998 Edo worked as an assistant at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz at the department for composition and conducting.
Since 1995 Edo is leader of the Ensemble for New Music at the KUG (Kunstuniversität Graz). In 1999 he became a lecturer at this University. At the same time Eco Micic worked as a member of the ARBOS Company for Music and Theatre where he conducted some first performances of new operas in Klagenfurt, Salzburg and Prague.
In the following years Edo Micic worked with and conducted orchestras like the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Tehran Symphony Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Slovenian Philharmonic, Savaria Sympony Orchestra and others at home and abroad.
As a respected specialist in contemporary modern music Edo works with ensembles like the Zagreb Soloists, Cantus Ensemble Zagreb, Sonemus Ensemble, Ensemble Kreativ Klagenfurt, Schallfeld Ensemble Graz, Ensemble 09 Linz, and the Klangforum Wien.
In October 2003 conductor Edo Micic, composer Kiawash Sahebnassag and saxophonist Clemens Frühstück founded the Ensemble Zeitfluss. Their claim was to present exciting developments in contemporary music and reveal the beauty that often eludes the general public. The Ensemble Zeitfuss seeks to perform forgotten, rarely played and unknown works and has become an indispensable part of the music culture in Styria.
Edo Micics is a welcomed guest at different music festivals like the Steirischen Herbst, Tage Neuer Music Graz, Music Biennale Zagreb, Music Festival Opatija, Sonemus Festival, International Summer Music Festival Saint Donat, Epidaurus Festival Cavtat or at the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival.
